Hungary is excellent for those who are looking for a
relaxing holiday with a difference!
At the very centre of Europe, Hungary is steeped in history. From the Roman ruins right through to the post-war communist era, which is rapidly becoming 'history' in modern Hungary.
Visit Hungary now! While
it is still unspoilt!
The countryside around Horvatzsidany is gently rolling with plenty of woods. The summers are mainly hot and dry, the winters
usually cold and snowy.
Apart from enjoying the museums &
castles, vineyards & historic towns, take advantage of the excellent spas and water parks.
The area is renowned for its natural warm water spas.
Relax in the warm mineral waters for your health or have fun in the new water parks,
the nearby Sonnentherme which can be reached by walking over the border to Austria
has the longest water slide in Europe!
Vienna is little more than an hour
away as is Lake Balaton, Hungary's inland sea. Excellent for swimming or sailing, it is surrounded by vineyards, castles and lakeside resorts.
Further
afield you can visit Budapest and Bratislava within 2-3 hours.

Food & Drink:
Goulash
is the most famous Hungarian food and should not be missed.
Main courses are excellent and Hungary also has some delicious desserts including Gundal Palacinta (a
pancake filled with a rich chocolate, nut and liqueur sauce) and Somloi Galuska -
just try it!
To wash all this good food down, try the good quality wines, especially the whites from Lake Balaton and the rich reds from Eger, home of their famous Bull's Blood wine.
Language:
Although English is not widely spoken, many speak German as their second language. Hungarians are helpful
to tourists and it is quite easy to get by using a phrase book and much pointing!
Help at Hand:
Our
English friends Terry and Sam act as caretakers for the Villa, they live in the village and are on hand to offer help and assistance if ever it is required.
Getting about:
Within
2 minutes walk a regular bus service takes you to the other villages and towns in the locality. The train station is only 5
minutes drive away. From there you can use the regular trains to travel all over Hungary.
